Feldenkrais Method is taught in group classes often called Awareness Through Movement. ATMs. Lessons are often taught on the floor or sitting. The teacher talks you through a series of movements that are repeated and explored. The movement sequences promote an awareness and engagement with your own internal sensations. The increased awareness can bring about improved movement and coordination, releasing tension and ingrained movement patterns
Feldenkrais Method was developed by Moshe Feldenkrais, who was an engineer and judo instructor. Following an injury Feldenkrais applied his knowledge of anatomy, phsiology and his knowledge of martial arts to his own healing. During this process he realised the importance of working with the whole body and the whole self to effect lasting change.
Stuart Verity completed the Feldenkrais four year training in 2007 and has since been teaching Feldenkrais in small groups and one to one.
